STATE OF THE GAME APRIL 2021

State Of The Game: April 2021
Greetings, Travelers! Head mod here, bringing with you an update on our plans for the game and a request for feedback!
Game Schedule
After reviewing the pace of the game through Chapter 1, we have decided to compress the plot a little as to give players a more timely experience of their characters being able to affect the setting. We currently have plans for Chapter 1.5 and a subsequent Chapter 2. However, we are considering putting the game on pause after Chapter 2. This is because the plot of our game does depend on the original Genshin Impact game lore to develop the metaplot and write events. We may not follow up with Chapter 2.5 or Chapter 3 if the original source material does not update in time.
That being said, here is our schedule for the next four months:
April 2021: This month will have an application round from April 12th to April 19th. The first half of the month will revolve around the Windblume Festival, while the second half of the month will be a lead-in to Chapter 1.5.
May 2021: Characters will explore Dragonspine mountain. This chapter is intended to be wholly exploration-based, without NPC interaction or things to 'help out' with. The lore revealed in this chapter will also tie in to the overarching theme of the game. There will be an application round from May 24th to May 31st to introduce new characters for Chapter 2.
June 2021: Characters will journey from Mondstadt to Liyue for Chapter 2. In June, they will have the opportunity to learn more about Liyue and help facilitate dialogue between different groups in the city. This month will be focused on CR building and exploring the history of Teyvat. Opportunities for slice-of-life living tasks will also be present.
July 2021: Characters will be asked to assist Liyue in repelling an ancient threat, followed by participating in the local festival as a reward for their hard work.
System Updates
Our applications will be opening once more on April 12th at 00:00 GMT. We have 12 player slots available at the current time, and we will be accepting +1s for prospective players! Each existing player can give +1 invitations to two new players. This is subject to change - if we still have spare slots late in the application period, we will raise the number as necessary.
Characters who come in subsequent app rounds will also have a different arrival process. They will need to agree to help Teyvat after being offered the chance to come in by Forneus, the God of Time. His offer will come with a reward for their efforts, and that they will be able to keep their elemental abilities when they return. If your prospective character requires more incentives, let us know and we can hash out something for them.
Game Pacing
What are your thoughts about the game's content level? Our goal of having two quests a month is to give players alternative events that they can participate in if they aren't too interested in the main story quest. Commissions are also provided on the side for slice-of-life events. We currently release all events at the start of the month, and give players 1 month to thread out the content. We hope that commission threads or quest threads can be submitted within the current month, so we opt to release it earlier.
We would like to know if players prefer us to release things every 2 weeks, or slow down the scope of side story quests if they are too complicated. Do you find that you have too little time to thread out the quests to completion? Are the quest requirements too complex? What sorts of 'side story quests' would you like to see? Most of our planned events involve the game's lore, but we have also been considering side story quests that focus less on the world and more on the players. Are there any specific genres of events that you would be interested in participating?
